DivX to VCD gives shocking picture

Hi,

I've two questions:

1) if you have a DivX movie, is it better to convert it to SVCD
instead of VCD?

2) when I convert the movie to MPEG2 it seems that frames
are missing, the movie will play a little bit shocking. Is there
a tool wich can for example interpolate frames?

From my experiences, I prefer converting everything into VCD using the latest TMPGENc software.

Of course SVCD has better picture quality than VCD, but it takes much more time to encode to SVCD than VCD(For my machine, 1 hr movie takes 2 hrs for VCD & 3 hrs for SVCD).

For me, SVCD is kind of difficult to cut, merge and stuff like that.
Also, SVCD will need more cds(usually 3 discs per movie) for movie.

I think VCD still has very good quality using TMPGENc.

Thanks for your reaction, could it be possible that the framerate isn't correct? I want to create a PAL VCD from a NTSC DivX file. I've tried all the options in TMPEnc, I don't see differences.

NTSC is 30fps, PAL is 25fps (generally)
Conclusion, you're going to drop 5 frames no matter what you do.
What do you mean by shocking?

Hi,

I mean with shocking, that there is no smooth transition between te pictures. It looks if objects/persons are moving shocky.

Is there a good tool to convert NTSC DivX Avi's to PAL?
