problems taking screenshots of divxmovies

i have searched everywhere, and havent been able to find an answer this problem..
the thing is, i want to take a screenshot of one of my divxmovies (i want to take a screen of aliens2, to use as a template for one of my drawings.. its not porn or anything )..
i have tried pressing print screen, and then paste it in paint.. but when i do all i get is a kind of purple colour..
is this some sort of copyright thing?
and if it is, is there some way to go around it?

i have tried doing it with windows media player aswell as The
Playa.. same result..

any ideas?

Hi

I think the best way to do this would be to use virtualdub, move to the frame u want and copy to clipboard 'video->copy source to clipboard' or 'Ctrl+1'
