You don't make sense at all. How could a simple waiting period be a horror story? Surely you don't spend all your time in front of the screen, waiting for the whole process to finish? A day for finishing one pass is a bad idea to me. 'Never' is not acceptable.

Batman, you should be able to do encoding. Even khp managed to do it on a 486 ( )!!!

That's right I think if you have any pc that can run Flask and have the right codecs, you could manage to encode

I do "infant" encoding. E.g lowering the quality of a hi quality episodes. Converting some cartoons to mpeg. But I can't do "real" encoding---dvd ripping and the kind. Largely, because I don't have any connection through which I could connect a dvd player to my PC (I don't even have USB 1.0 even though we're on 2.0 now).

Don't worry guys it'll all change soon. I'll get a new PC and catch up with all of you, then I'll be ripping up the place

Until then I download divx like everyone else, and store it for my new "dream machine" PC.

No Sarit, nice guys like me don't have mean machines. I'm "living" on a P200 (I know its a shock). I'll be getting a new machine when this PC dies, I'm holding out for a better deal...then no more mister nice guy
