    Help...joining AVIs

I have captured Hi8 analog through virtual dub 480*576 Huff for making SVCD.
I wish to attach a small title clip in the begining;found on the net for "happy birthday" of 320x240 size.
I resized through virtual dub using resize filter to make it 480x576 Huff.
While merging it with the main clip the error "different stream" appears.
    Any solution?

The two clips must be identical - same video and audio codecs, same settings (framerates, sampling rates, etc.)...

To do this joining job you prefer Virtual dub or Premiere 6 (ignoring the cost aspect )

Virtualdub is much easier to use. To find out what the main clip was encoded at simply load it and select file - properties. If vdub complains about the audio then most likely it is a vbr audio encode. You can use nandub in that case instead.

To my Hi8 captured (virtual dub) AVI, I wish to add title clip wishing happy birthday.
My issue is, the main AVI is 10 GB. The title clip is 300mb.
To join both of them the whole 10.3 GB has to pass the process. Is there any shortcut?

When you join them you use the direct stream copy feature for both audio and video so it should only take a few minutes. You just have to make sure you have enough drive space. Is this a concern for you?.

If virtual dub reject the files while mearging, then is it possible to make them similar by some process ?
