Webcam Motion Detecting

Does anyone know of any software that will get a webcam to record motion? I have tried DORGEM which records every 30 secs, but not just on motion.
I am interested in both Windows and Linux.

I see a few free ones for Windows on Softpedia. I haven't tried any though. A lot are as old as 2003. The link below says the software was last updated in 2009. But Softpedia can lose track if the programmer stops manually updating them. You may find a more recent release if you search.
