How to convert an avi with 5-Channel-Audio into avi with mp3?

Hi,
I have an avi file wich has divx video and 5 channel audio.
I'd like to convert the sound to mp3 to fit the movie on only one cd.

I've tried VirtualDub, but it couldn't handle that type of audio and I couldn't find any other program that could help me with this

Does anyone know how to convert this sort of audio?

open the file in NANDUB
=> file save wave will extract your AC3 sound stream

convert this ac3 with besweet and mux the file into your avi again

thanx for your advice, but it didn't work
I opened the file with nandub and saved the audio as wav.
Then I tried to convert the audio with besweet, but it couldn't handle that type of audio

When I play the file in mediaplayer and check the properties, I get following information under extended tab:
Default DirectSound Device
DivX Decoder Filter
InterVideo Audio Decoder
Morgan Stream Switcher
Video Renderer

I hope someone knows how to slve this problem.
