    Trojan in Xvid download

    My antivirus software detects a virus in both archives of Xvid packages : Trojan Momma-B...

    Anybody has this pb ?

    It seems both Nic's and Koepi's binary versions of XviD (the versions available on their websites) are detected has having this trojan.

    At that time, only Sophos Anti-Virus gives the warning, and in fact, none of the other Anti-Virus tools even knows about/lists the Momma/B trojan. Norton Anti-Virus with latest virus definition does not give out any warnings.

    To be precise, it is the uninstall.exe files within both binaries that gives the infected warning, which probably only means that both Nic and Koepi used the same install/uninstall software packages to pack their binaries.

    IMO : most likely a false warning.

      You're probably right... I'm using Sophos on that computer...

      FYI : the latest Koepi's XVID binary doesn't trigger the Sophos Alert
