SVCD play jerky on TV

Hi,
I have converted Hi8 to AVI through Virtual dub. This AVI I am trying to convert into MPEG II using Tmpg. I have tried various 'Rate control modes' in settings.
Finally Automatic_VBR(CQ_VBR) at 2520_300; 55quality looks great on PC but gives jurky movement on TV.
Is there any setting which gives smooth movement on TV?

Did you play the movie on your standalone DVD player? At what speed did you burn the CD? Sometimes it happens that when you burn to fast, the file on the CD becomes damaged. Try a lower speed.

In last 24 hours I have made 6 coasters..I used Nero, Ulead DVD factory and speed I even tried 1x. I use Sony media.
On PC it works alright.
But on standalone the picture quality is excellent. No issues here, but when the camera moves the whole picture shakes like a quake.
It has something to do with "bitrate" or "interlacing" or some "DivX" codecs I am missing, I guess, but am not able to figure out.

jerky video

i noticed when i use higher bps in the video it solves the jerky
increase the file size and you increase the quality=less jerky video. this is what i notice works with divx 3.11 and (wm7 and 8)

I have XP OS. I am planning fresh installation.
Can you tell me which Divx codecs should I install to do my job.
With my limited knowledge I have heard of Divx 3.11, 4 and 5.02.
I have a strong feeling that some codecs conflict and therefore I have landed into this problem. To be sure that I do not install something unnecessary I need this info.

it is all opinion

personally i say newest stable is the best
wm8 and divx 5.0.2
depends on what you like and see
i've heard good things about xvid, but not confirmed yet.
