Best software for video capture??

Hi-
I'm using one of those cheap generic bt8x8 boards and am trying to find the best/fastest/least frame dropping software.
VDub works ok at the moment though I do have problems with a progressive audio desync...

What do other people find to be good?

I'm using Movie Mill which came with Snazzi III USB2 MPEG external capture box. I like it fine. I used to use MyDVD to capture, but Sonic software seems buggy on my machine.
