No.It is for decoding and encoding DivX files. Period.

Actually, despite Enchanter's "Period", DivX is for compressing and decompressing. I believe Premiere will recognize and utilize a properly installed DivX codec...

Thanks, Setarip -- that's exactly what I needed to know. So from Premiere I can utilize the DivX compression protocol? And this would be possible even w/ the free downloadable version?

I answered this part. Somebody tell me if the DivX codec can now decode DVDs. Perhaps the originator of this thread should have been more clear with that statement...
