i know this doesnt have anything to do with DivX but someone PLEASE help me...

i cant play AVI files...(i use Windows Media Player, and Realplayer)
whenever i try it always says to download a decompressor and then it says unable to download appropiate decompressor..and a bunch of other stuff...how can i play AVI files!?!?

do i need to use a different program to play them or do i need to convert the AVI files somehow?

    someone PLEASE help me...

    feedback will be appreciated....

Try the DivX codec, which is the commonly used codec for AVI files (In the case of movie files anyway). Look for it here.

      Two opportunities:
      1) Try to get Nimo Codec Pack from the download section and install it. It will most probably include the codec you need.
      2) Load the file into VirtualDub and see at 'File - File Information' what particular codec is used in this AVI file and then do a search at the download section or maybe at Google for that codec.

      Hope this helps.

You would need the QuickTime Player (not a codec)...

I usually change the .mov in .avi and I can play it with almost any player. try it.
