    Avi bitrate is not right!!!

    Hello guys,

    here is my (small) problem:

When i rip a movie witch is 127 Minutes long my Ecuador Avi bitrate calculator 2.87 Deluxe says that my bitrate has to be: 1230 for two CD's!!
So i did set it on 1300 !!! And my file is still 1250 Mb this is 150Mb to small (actualy 130 or somewhere around that)!!!
The quality is perfect but it could bin better when i can use the other 130-150 Mb!!!!
Do i have to guess the higherbitrate or is there a calculator that is more exactlyer???

I hope someone can help me!!!!

    Thanx

    GreetZ

Sounds like you might have reached the maximum quality, with your current settings.
Which resolution did you use ?
    Which codec ?
Did you use 2-pass encoding ?

EDIT: On second thought, your bitrate does seem rather low, unless you also selected 256kbps audio.

      Divx Codec 5.02Pro!
      And a two pass rip!!!
      I used Dvdx 2.0!!!
      I used 196Kbs sound!

OK according to GKnot 1230 is the correct bitrate, if you were aiming for 2 650 MB CD's. It should be 1336kbps if you were aiming for 2 700MB CD's.
Your problem is almost cirtainly that you have reached the maximum possible quality with your current settings. Your Bits Per pixel value is 0.4 which is very high for a DVD rip. I would suggest going for a resolution of 640*352 or 608*336 or do a 1 CD rip.

In case you go for a 1CD rip you should probably reduce the audio bitrate to 128 and use a 700 MB CD.

That pretty much impossible to answer exactly. It depends on a lot of factors. I usually use GKnot to help me decide.

I think that 640*352 is a reasonable choise in your case.

If you want a higher bitrate...you could shoot for a 3 cd rip...
