Hi - I accidently turned my dvd-rom drive to region 1 and it wont go back to region 4 - I thought this would have fixed a problem with one of my dvd's but it did not - Seeing as this is the first I have changed it I am quite annoyed. It says i have one more time before it becomes permanent but will not turn back.

I have looked all over the net and have found various stuff that I thought would help me - but in the end I am just too confused.

My DVD-ROM is a MATSHITA DVD-ROM SR-8585 .

If someone could help me out here, and try to help me reset it somehow I would be most grateful - as Im at tethers that I cant play dvds when i go to bed

Check the DVD -> Region-free section. There will be a lot of helpful stuff that might just help you out.

By the way, I posted a link to site that has a collection of ROM flashes for many DVD drives. Check some of the older threads that I've put a reply to.
