    Divx to DVD

Completely new to this so apologise if I am asking the impossible or sound stupid. I have downloaded various Divx files and have read various guides as to how to convert them to VCD. Is it possible to put a compilation of files onto a DVD. I have tried turning DIVx to MPEG1 and then burning this onto DVD with DVDit but it did not seem to work.

Any help would be much appreciated (and again I apologise if it is a stupid question)

avi's can be converted to a DVD format using TMPGEnc

then burned to DVD using Ulead DVD factory, Sonic MyDVD, Spruceup DVD(this one is free), and finally and probably the best DVD authoring tool is "Ulead DVD Workshop"

More information regarding DVD authoring can be found at :-

Video forums, video software downloads, guides, blu-ray players and media.

Vcdhelp.com also contains information on how to author vcd's and svcd's on dvd's and play them on your conventional dvd player, you may want to check this out.
