Problem maintaining aspect ratio in TMPGenc

I realise there are options in TMPGenc to 'full screen - keep aspect ratio' which I choose when I'm converting a Divx codec file to Mpeg2 for eventual DVD burning, but when I preview during encoding, the picture is all squashed into what looks like a 4:3 ratio rather than staying as 16:9

Doesn't happen on all films, but quite a few. Has anyone got a tip on how to resolve this please?

Thanks for your tip which I'll try as soon as this 9-5 thing is done!

I did burn a film that previewed in TMP last evening and once burned it wasd fine in 16:9, so I should have just persevered.
