codec problem

Just downloaded a MPG file.

Both WMP 9 and 6.4 tried auto codec d/l but both failed.


But WMP 6.4 still played with the following codecs:

AC3 Prologic Decoder
Default Directsound Device
Fraunhofer Video Decoder (MPEG2 Video Codec)
MPEG-2 Splitter
Video Renderer



Anyone know what codec is actually needed?
(Want it to play on WMP9)
Any codec recommendations?

You have an MPEG-2 file. Installing a software DVD player, such as PowerDVD or WinDVD, will enable your media players to play such files. I have unfortunately no experience with the WMP 9 player, so no guarantee it will work. I know it does work under WMP 8 (WinXP) though.

The poster, iron2000, already has the required codecs installed - and has clearly stated that they enabled playing under WMP v.6.4). The Fraunhoefer video codec (together with the ProLogic .AC3 decoder) provides the ability to play DVDs and MPEG2 files under earlier than V.9 of Windows Media Player...

AC3 Prologic Decoder where???

Please , can everyone tell me where can I find AC3 Prologic Decoder filter.I have tried all + nimo codec but I can't find anywhere this option.Thanks in regard.Sorry for my bad English.
