PS2 Region Free?

I brought a PS2 from the States to Europe... Can anyone tell me how I can make my ps2 region free??

I want to watch DVD's i buy or rent here in Europe on my machine without having to buy another PS2.

I think a mod-chip and region free software should do the trick
