TV Capture -> AVI format... how to config?

    Hiya! I'm new to this...

I have a (ATI) All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500 DV from which I record tv. I usually record in MPEG1 a whole show, then in Premiere I cut out the ads. Then, I want to export the Premiere file in AVI, but when I do so, the sound comes out alright but it's as if the image skips every second frame.

Also, I've been told that the capture's, the imported file's, the Premiere project file's and the exported file's settings should be the same for best results... which I did, but the image is still skippy...

I would like to know if youse got any ideas what to do better to export my video files and be alright.

Also, is there a way in ATI multimedia center to record in DIVX coded format?

anywho, all the help is appreciated...

    ^_^

Try using, if compatible with your setup, VirtualDub's built-in capture software - which captures in .AVI format...

Thanx for the suggestion... but it's not that much the problem of capturing tv in .avi, but more the problem of exporting a projet from Premiere into a rather compact file.

For example, I recorded the X-Men Evolution on WB, but I wanna take out the ads, so I go in Premiere. what do I do with divx 5.0.2 to get the most compact file and not lose oo much quality.. i mean, a friend of mine gave me a downloaded shrek in a dvd quality...

Or, I recorded (captured) a movie froma vhs, a movie that I rented and I'd like to convert the whole .mpeg into a compact .avi or divx file...

what do i do in ths window
