    Crashing.

    Hi

I've recently installed a Pioneer DVD-106S DVD-ROM drive. It does work but since installing it my PC crashes alot more and it seems to only happen when im using the drive. I get straight system lock-up where it just freezes and i have to restart and other times the monitor picture just goes blank or the computer restarts by itself. my system spec is:
    Win 98
    Athlon 850
    396 SDRAM
    Geforce 2 GTS 32mb
    SB live value
Pioneer DVD-106S with generic driver and firmware version 1.22
    8 gb hdd
I have the latest drivers for my devices i believe.

My power supply is a 250w. Could it perhaps be a power problem ?
If not that then can anyone help me please ?? I'm pretty sure the crashing is related to my DVD drive.

    Thanks, Tim

Try to disable DMA for the DVD if it's enabled.
Donate your idle CPU time for something usefull.
