I don't know if anyone can help me but I am having problems capturing with Adobe Premiere 6.5. I have a firewire connection to my DV Cam and in the movie capture screen I can control my camera. Then When I record my video and audio it all goes well, I can see the preview picture and here the sound through my computer speakers, it records normally, until I cancel out of the capture screen. Then my computer comes up with the same message that windows has had a problem with adobe premiere and has had to close??? This means that I can not capture anything! I know that it is not my connection to the camera that is the problem because I have full control over my camera in other programes. What can I do?? Is premiere 6.5 compatible with Windows XP?

I find Premiere too annoying to capture and use period. Unless you want to do fancy scene transition effects always use virtualdub for video capture and simple editing.
go to www.virtualdub.org
Has some great filters available too...
