    1. Open the file in Virtualdub
    2. Go to File -> File Information
    3. Post what information you see here

No sound or video in .avi

I downloaded and installed virtualdub. This was what it said:
      Frames 352x3,000 fps
      # of frames 13207 (1:13:25
      Decompression: Uncompressed
      # of Key Frames 13209
      Key Frame: 12672/12672/12672
      Delta Frame No Delta Frame

      Audio was empty.

Maybe I downloaded something not real??

      Thank you

Since its your first download and your new to kazaa, you must know that some (only some) of the files on it are not real, or renamed to be something else. So to be sure the file is really what you want, check if everybody has the same file name. If some say for example "snow white" and some say "spiderman", chances are its either not the real file, or its fake. Just letting you know

Thanks for the reply. Yes the first one was a fake. I did it again using a different file and it does play in Microsoft Media player.
Now !!! I want to write the file to a DVD. I tried using Record Now which is my burning software. When I tried to open the file in that program I received a error message saying it could not recognize the folder or file (I'm not sure which). the path is C:\program files\kazza\my shared folder\------.avi. I thought this was going to be easier than it is

I don't use Record Now, but are you sure the file is really in that folder and you didn't move it somewhere else? Also, if you did or didn't, put the file in a different folder and remember the path. Then choose the same path in your burning software and burn. Finally, are you burning the dvd-r/+r as a data cd or other?

Hi Thanks for the reply. I am choosing make Video CD. Then I click the + to add the file. I moved it to C:\my documents\dvd\maid.avi
When the box opens I click on the file and a box comes up saying "can not recognize C:\my documents\dvd\maid.avi
I have a Pioneer DVD-R. I also have the Sonic software that came with the DVD writer but can't seem to figure that one out. Thanks, Brenda

Well, like i said, i'm not familiar with Record Now, but I would suggest that you download Nero Burning Rom v.5.5.10.0. Its considered to be one the best burning tools around, and it does everything, dvd's, audio cd's etc... Download it for free here Then after installing it, open it up and the wizard should pop-up. Simply select "create dvd" and choose the file that you want to put on your dvd-r.
