Ok i am just now getting into dl and burning movies and dvds i found a movie Triple xXx and it need the ac3 codec.

Do I install the codec into my media player or is any were on the HD ok ?

properly registering the file is what counts

registering means running a command like this one:

regsvr32 /s iviaudio.ax
regsvr32 /s mpgaudio.ax

the above goes for the two file normally necessary to have ac3 files play.

i'd copy the two files into the windows/system folder and run the two commands listed above but i have no idea what files you have downloaded.
