how do i install p3.dll part of the TMPGEnc download on windows xp please help im new to all this stuff i just get a message saying windows needs to know what programe created it in order to install and there im afraid is where you got me

If, in fact, you mean "P3.dll" (or "P4.dll"), it's part of the REQUIRED companion VFAPI file that you have to download (from the same place you downloaded TMPGEnc) and install in your TMPGEnc directory...
