    so very tired

first i would like to say how thankful i am for this forum and the time that people put into this: i am so new to this and have been trying to figure all this out for the past 10 days...trying this and that with very little success, so i decided to resort to the forum for guidance...this is what i have..sony-dru-500a, and using windows xp...have downloaded dvd decryptor, have purchased nero burning rom, nero vision and mpeg to dvd encoder. for playin back i have power dvd....like a said, totally new to this and dont understand what exactly one needs to make all this work, have done alot of reading and searching for a guide line...is this what i need to do this, do i need more? what is the sequence to making this work? can one use regular cds to copy dvd movies? is there one package that would do all i need without filling my pc with more downloads?.....this is what i want to do: i want to make copies of my dvd collection for family and friends...just something simple...please help...thank you for anyones time....email...stressin@aol.com

By all means, click on the links to DVDR Digest and DVD Digest at the top of this page - and read some of the excellent tutorials...

i have already been reading and printing information...still wondering if what i previously posted as far as software that i currently have is enough to do what i want...do i need more tools, utilities, etc or is what i have already enough...i checked out dvd2svcd and it states there that they are not always playable in home dvd players in that format.dont think thats a route i want to take.
