    Win XP crash =Lost Programmes

    Hi Guys,
    Here's one to test you!
After the uncrashable Win XP crashed....lost lots of stuff.
I had a freebie prog that converted shop DVD into meg1 cut to go onto CD-R.
Cannot find it in any back up disks and forgot name! BUT the desktop icon was a chicken!

    HELP......

Have you tried the system restore feature of XP?

        The crash !

After sorting windows out it seems that my "downloads" directory was either restored to a far back date or ??? whatever happened cos most of the stuff had dissapeared.
The system is back and working..but a friend brought me a DVD and wanted to convert it onto VCD..when I clicked the icon..the prog had gone and I also lost the downbloaded original files.
Hence my question.. I have scoured the forum links for downloads but cannot find the program. Only remember the chicken icon!

Since you have xp, system restore (as batman suggested) is a good way to go and will most likely bring your pc back to the date before the crash (assuming you have the feature turned on).
