creating new multiple chapters in a dvd

hiya i am new to converting movies to different formats and i was wondering if i could do the following:

i have a movie in divx.avi format i convert it to svcd using tmpgenc plus i then strip the movie to seprate video and audio files and then format the audio to dvd quality and then author the dvd using ifoeditor i was wondering during this process is there anyway i could create multiple chapters for my film so i can skip through it without having to fastforward it...

if anyone has or knows of a way i would be really gratefull of your assistance

Authoring software, such as DVDWise (if you can find it), provides such capability...

i find it easy to author a new dvd with ifoedit so i would be helpful if anyone else knew of a way to create new chapters
