    DivX 5 conversion

    Hi all,

I obtained a film in DivX 5 format. I want to convert it to an mpeg so I can burn it to a DVD. Everytime I tried so far, I've been getting audio but no video, I can't figure out which filter to use.

    I'd appreciate any help, thanks.

I am assuming you are using TMPGEnc?

The following are what you will need:
      1. TMPGEnc for conversion of AVI to MPG.
      2. DivX 5.x codec so TMPGEnc can recognise DivX5 contents.

Still having trouble. I installed a DivX 5.02 codec and used TMPGEnc to try again, still getting the same problem. I can watch the video fine, when i use bsplay, it says it's using ffdshow MPG4 Video Decoder, I'm using the Tsunami Filter Pack. When I try running it through VirtualDub to try and change the video filter to something else, I'm still getting no video on the conversion file. I think I have everything installed, what could be the problem?

          Thanks

Why do you need to run the file through VD? All you need to do is load up the AVI file in TMPGEnc, use its wizard and follow the instructions . . .

By the way, change the Configuration of FFDShow so that it does not handle DivX 5 contents.
