I am new to DVD Burning and am yet to create a successfull DVD Video . Everytime I try to encode any large AVI file to burn onto DVD it fails in the last ten minutes. Each time it says VOB. file full. I am usind WinOnCD6 DVD Edition and/or Nero Vision Express. One of the files is Xvid and the others I have are AVI but the result is always the same. I can burn smaller file's e.g episodes from a sitcom etc but any files around 700Mb keep failing. Can anyone please help me as I am new to this and have been trying for 5 weeks now without success. I have purchased a larger Hard Drive as I read somewhere that you need a minimum of 10Gb free to encode and now have 65Gb free. Please Please Please Please Please Please help Many Thanks Andy

Welcome to forum,
What operating system are you using?
Win9x-Me uses FAT32 file system which allows a max file size of 4Gb. DVDR can hold 4.37Gb
Most commercial DVD are 6-7GB in size.
WinNT/2000/XP can use FAT32 AND NTFS. NTFS will allow files well over 4Gb (16 Exabytes if i remember correctly)
So my question. What OS are you using and please outline the steps you are taking?.

The steps I am taking are as follows
1. Drag File into the "working window"
2. Depending On wether it is Nero or WinOnCD I will make chapters, Title Menu etc
3. Then go to Burn/Record
Once I got to the record. Burn section it will spend about 6 hours encoding etc. Then on the file I am trying to write (Xvid) it will fail about 10 mins before starting to write the DVD, If it is WinOnCD it says "VOB. File is full"
If Im using Nero Vision Express It stops at the same section saying "Cannot find dick content"
I've also tried encoding onto my hard drive with the idea of dragging the already encoded file staight onto DVD, but again at the same point it fails. I notice when it fails it is on the end credits, so if I was to use premiere to take these out do you think this will help towards solving the problem??.
Once again mate Many ThanksComment
