I haven't messed with synch problems before, but now I have a couple of files that are just slightly displaced (sound arriving less than half second before lips move...so I read Nicky's FAQ...downloaded VirtualDub and tried to import one of my files. I got a VirtualDub Error: MPEG Import Filter: pack synchonization error. I ran to the VD web site...downloaded a few filters and copied the to VD's plug in registry and still got the error message. My DVC-150 captures in MPEG format. My questions are: Does VirtualDub allow MPEGs to be imported (and if not, is there another tool for lining up audio w/video?)...If it does...what am I doing wrong? Is there a specific filter I need to find?

VDub can import MPEG-1,but will only output .avi -
Virtualdubmod can import vob/mpeg-2 files as well.Comment

These are MPEG-2 VBR...they were created by burning raw capture to DVD using MyDVD...then ripped to .vob...video demuxed in TMPGenc. The same raw capture was rendered in MovieStar to demux the audio. Audio/Video Muxed in TMPGenc to give MPEG2 VBR ready to be processed by TMPGenc with PCM audio. Synch was fine at every stage of the process until the final remuxing. Is there a VirtualDub-like tool out there that will allow me to line up the audio/video on an MPEG2?Comment

Virtualdubmod will output to *.avi or *.ogm.
A search on google should yield results on where to download it.
Secondly, TMPGenc can correct audio sync check out this site:

Thanx Batman...love this virtual support...found and downloaded VirtualDubMod from SourceForge before your post...if i can adjust displacement using TMPGenc I won't have to reconvert from avi before merging with other in-synch segments...will try that first. Thanx for the leads! Beers on me!Comment
