Mixing AVI with AC3

Hi,
Could someone explain me how to mix a video avi file with an audio ac3 file?

Which tool should I use?

Is it possible to choose the bitrate of the ac3?

To mix the ac3 file with your video all you need is VirtualDub.
As far as changing the bitrate of the ac3 file I think BeSweet will do that for you. Download Besweet and the BeSweet GUI. This program can convert any sound format into any other sound format and allow you to make changes to it. See if that helps.

Open the file in VDub
Under Video select "Direct Stream Copy"
Under Audio Select AC3 audio
Under Audio Select "Direct Stream Copy

This is applicable ONLY to VirtualdubMod and nandub.

And in case you are using nandub, use the following interleave values:

448kbps (6 ch) -> Preload: 128ms, Interleave: 128ms
384kbps (6 ch) -> Preload: 160ms, Interleave: 160ms
256kbps (2 ch) -> Preload: 48ms , Interleave: 48ms
224kbps (2 ch) -> Preload: 64ms , Interleave: 64ms
192kbps (2 ch) -> Preload: 80ms , Interleave: 80ms
