Why do you need to remedy it, are you going to burn it for viewing on a standalone?
For viewing on your computer you don't need to change anything as long as you have the right codecs and the file is correct.
I have a similar question. If I have a large movie and I wanna make it smaller without sacrificing a lot of quality, can I reduce the framerate from 30 to 15? If that will make the audio out of sync, can I fix the audio, and would the resulting movie file be smaller?
