    divx is now sluggish...

unusual, i didn't have this problem before, but my divx movie now runs sluggish and i can't seem to watch it correctly. any ideas? i use mplayer2 (old wmp for the substitling feature). i tried putting the desktop in 16 bit color rather than 32 bit, still doesn't. thanks in advance for any advice.

When did this problem happen? Was it when you downloaded a codec or filter pack? I would leave the desktop on 32bit colors and load up the divx file into GSpot or load it into Virtualdub and see what the File Properties are.

could it be the ac3 stream? do you have this problem with other movies?

        >> edit: you've a winamp DSP that post-processes audio, is that normal? I know ac3filter is also available for winamp..

          hmph

you know, i think it may be the movie, all the other divx movies that i have don't have the same problem, but still, i did watch half of the movie with no problem before. anyhow, i am going to convert the divx movie into svcd instead, what is a good program to use? also, the divx came with an extra .smi file for subtitles, how can i incorporate that into the converting to svcd? thanks in advance.
