Help with Subtitles! what the heck?

hey everyone, total noob here.

problem: I have some DVD's i want to rip to DivX format. I want to permanently add the english subtitles to these movies cos I speak english. in the movies they don't!

simple!
I actually own these DVDs but I want to give them to my mates without 'GIVING' them to my mates.

I can rip dvds and convert them fine using:
clanDVD (XP) (I use Disk Mode)
auto frameserve with the dvd2avi in clanDVD
convert using VFAPI
then VirtualDub to encode.

I have downloaded VobSub, and SupRip.. but then got stuck..

Could someone be kind enough to step by step how to get the subtitles of the DVD, and squish them into a nice DivX?
I am thinking i have to use the 'File Mode' in clanDVD, but thats all i know..

I would appreciate it! I want to get Shaolin Soccer and Yamakasi nice and backed up! i could always learn french and cantonese i guess.

subtitles

just use DVDx to rip and encode your DVD

choose your subtitles
and they will be
encoded in your divx stream
permanatly.
make sure that you choose the right subtitile by preview!!
of course you have to enable subtitles

it is an all in one ripping program!!
