    still no sound in AVI

Hey, I have a number of AVI files with no audio. I have installed Divx 5.05 and 3.11 Alpha as well as AC3. But no luck. I have attached a screen shot from G-Spot (apparently I also have the proper codecs).

I'm hesitant to install Codec Packs like Nemo, because as far as I can see there is no way to predict how they will react with my system.

So my question is what do you think I should install and can I completely uninstall it if it makes things worse?

    1) Unless I'm having system problems, your black and white .BPN is illegible

    2) In order to provide possibly MORE information:

    A) Load the video file into VirtualDub (or one of its many variants) or NanDub

    B) From the "File" dropdown menu, select "File Information"

    C) Post (here) EVERYTHING you see (BOTH video and audio information), or post a screen capture .jpg of the information box

Werid, I can read it fine in windows picture viewer. Anyways, I'm attaching the information gathered from gspot and virtual dub for two different video files, as .jpg files. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

The "Unknown(tag 0x161) refers to the "DivX audio" codec ( hack of the original Microsoft WMA audio codec), which should have been automatically installed as part of the DivX v.3.11alpha "package".

I'd suggest that you uninstall the v.3.11 presently on your system, and download (to make sure you've got the whole package) and install again...

              (The .JPGs look just fine)

That did it. I guess the file was corrupt the first time or I just didn't pay enough attention during the install process. Good thinking buddy. Thank you.
