Cant play OGM files

Having trubble palying .OGM files, i have downloaded jut about all codecs possible.

I can se the movie starting but the image is messed upp, the sound is ok. After a few sec the player is craches.

what can be wrong?

Try using Windows Media Player 6.4

Also is it just a couple files or all of them.

Also what player are you using that crashes and is it giving any error message..?

I am sorry wizzard1 taking your post as an example for other people but there are too many threads where ppl say they have "downloaded all the codecs they found" - and typically I think it is a stupid behaviour: there is no solution installing a ton of codecs (only problems), just get the ones you need.
You might be able to playback most common video files just installing the following:

ffdshow alpha (mpeg4-divx/xvid..)
oggDS (ogm/ogg)
ac3filter (ac3)
vobsubDS (subtitles)
real alternative (realmedia)

and a decent player like Media Player Classic that can handle native Matroska container.

I'm pretty sure you need to install real codecs (real alternative or realplayer or realone..) in order to get the realmedia feature working under MPC. also Real Alternative proposes to install MPC!
of course I do not recommend installing realone or realplayer.

Can BoF or somebody please explain to us that fumbles in
the dark why RealPlayer or Realone is a bad choice. Not that
I have it myself but I see this pop up here and there and
you and UncasMF and scores of other rocket scientists keep
on saying this.

ALLRIGHTY THEN ! That's why I stick to BS player. I also tried
to get rid of Windows Media player 9 (pre installed) but to
no avail. Seems equally difficult to "loose" that one. Still, as long
as it doesn't mess with me playing movies, it's OK.
