I use Tmpgenc Plus 2.5 to convert all my avi"s. Then Nero 6 to burn on DVD. Haven't had a coaster yet. Open Tmpgenc, use the wizard, click on the template ie DVD_NTSC, click next and follow the wizard. Very easy. Wait ? depending on your hardware. If mpeg file is to big to fit on a single DVD I use DVD Shrink. Then burn with Nero or your choice of burning software. Excellent results. Tmpgenc also has a built in bitrate calculator you can use to reach your file size. You have to load the unlock.mcf template to do this. Check the guides here and also at www.dvdrhelp.com also www.doom9.org.
