i have converted my avi to mpeg1 vcd everything is fine with that the only question i have is how do i get rid of the macroblocks (the squares on the film) or does anyone know how to make them less noticeable im using TMPGEnc if anyone can help i will be grateful. this is the third time i have left this message without anyone answering me so help me.

You may reduce the blocks with VirtualDUB's filters. Load the avi in VD use the filters (smooth, sharpen, noise reduction or other filter you find as usefull). You can also use the resize-filter to resize the movie to 352x288-vcd-resolution. Then you can save the avi uncompressed or as divx with highest bitrate and use it in TMPGEnc. Better way may be to use VD's frameserver to use the video in TMPGEnc without saving or reencoding the avi.don't trust in guidesComment
