DIVX to MPEG

OK I wonder if anyone can help with this.
I am trying to convert a divx file to mpeg using TMPGEnc but when I use the pal vcd template supplied with the prog I get an error message as soon as I start to decode saying "error decoding audio".
If I set the start and end points in the settings section it decodes but when I check the mpeg file after conversion there is no audio.
Any ideas?

What is the audio format of the DivX-compressed .AVI file?

Open the video in VirtualDUB and save the audio as PCM-WAV. If VirtualDUB can't extract the audio you don't have the right codec or the file is broken.

OK thanks guys, managed to extract the audio with virtual dub to a wav file then encoded using TMPGEnc, that seemed to do the trick.
