Premiere is an expensive storyboard editor...and I haven't seen too many people in this forum who use it. Adobe has a website and a premiere forum...those users are who you should be asking this question of.

Really?...Gee...I can do anything you can do with ULead VS7 for 1/5 the price...and I can capture in MPEG2 ( 1/5 the size)...and it's very simple to use.

Download a 30 day trial version and see for your self...you can find it on the ULead site. I use it all the time. You can feed your videos into the story board or timeline...it creates titles and transitions with ease...you can easily feed a song in from a CD and set it in the timeline...It'll capture DV thru the firewire in MPEG2 format ( 1/5 the size of .avi...1 hour .mpg= 1-4GB, 1 hour .avi= 12+ GB depending on bitrate of capture). It costs $90 vs the Premeire at $500

It'll even build the DVD VIDEO_TS files you can use to transport into DVDShrink to size your video as much as 50% smaller without discernable loss of quality...and it'll burn your DVD, too, if you want.

Type "Ulead" into the Google search engine. Download a trial version and check out the transitions for yourself. You can also do an overlay ( video in a video) and voice over dub.

Quality is always in the eye of the beholder. To me, I see no discernable difference between output and source.

Since you already have it you may as well keep it...but I find Adobe products over-priced and difficult to work with. Their $500 Photoshop is another example. Super complicated and I got frustrated trying to get it to perform simple tasks. Ulead PhotoImpact will do almost the same thing, is easy to use, and costs $90. They also have a great GIF animator, Cool 3D, and a bunch of other neat video products that make idiots (like me) look like stars.

LOL...perhaps...but I was trying to crop a person out of a photograph and I got totally confused with all the vectors and layers. With ULead scaple tool...zip...it was done. Perhaps the people who can master the complex Adobe products aren't artistic enough to use them to their full potential...but their animated GIF's don't look any better than those I've seen posted by other non-users.
