    Audio delay on MPEG decoding

    Hi,

    I'm new to this DVD recording lark. I've just cut my first DVD. I've got a Sony DWU110a and use Nero 6 with Nerovision Express II. I'm trying to cut MPEG TV recordings recorded from my Digital TV card. The process on Nero seems to work and the DVD cuts OK, but on playback there is a delay in the audio by around 1 second I suppose, shorter for really short recordings. I've saved projects to hard disk using Nerovision (before the burning process) and this suffers the same fate which perhaps indicates that it is the MPEG decoding rather than the burning process itself.
    Anyone any experience of this and any solutions.
    Thanks for any help.

    try a encoding tool like Tmpgenc to produce mpeg files then use nero just to burn ur cds.
    Seems like as soon you buy somehing, v. 2 comes out 1.5 times as fast!..!

      i am also having a similar problem(im newbie )

      I capture tv program in a dvd mpeg format --> then have used four different programs to create a vob, each one results differently, but all with video and audio out of sync, the audio is in sync in the begginning but is way off as the show progess

      programs used -- Ulead movie fact and workshop, IFOedit, and tmpegenc dvd author

      winfast pvr is the software that i use to capture the program, i can set it to mpeg2 or dvd ntsc, i have set it to dvd ntsc 720x480 6000kbps using and mpeg2 codec, and the audio is mpeg 1 audio layer-ii

      anyhelp ?

          Warden,

          If you want to keep abreast of my problem I've got this post on the "General Discussions" section where responses seem more forthcoming.

            NeroVision audio lag problems and solution

            Below is a solution to NeroVision audio lag problems. I hope it helps others.

            Found this purported fix for Nerovision avi transcoding problems on a forum.
            If this works for you could you please post it on other forums that you have visited while trying to solve this problem as I spent hours trying to find a solution and I visited many sites that had the same problem but no simple solution. I have posted it on the ones I visited.
            "A further development and an easier/ quicker fix:-
            Updated to Nero 7 v7.7.5.1. Lipsync issues when playing .avi files in Nero Showtime and when using Nero to make DVDs from .avis. Problem only when .avis encoded with xvid, not with divx. All .avis playing perfectly in Windows Media Player and PowerDVD.
            Solution:-
            Disable Nero's own codecs which forces the prog to use the system codecs:
            In C:\Program Files\Common Files\Ahead\DSFilter, rename NeAudio2.ax to OLDNeAudio2.ax and rename NeVideo.ax to OLDNeVideo.ax.
            If you ever need to reverse the changes for any reason just rename the two files to what they were."
            ======================
            The file rename approach did work for me. Though on my system the original files were NeAudio.ax and NeVideo.ax (ie no '2'). I use Nero 6.6.1.15 with Nero Vision Express 3. on Windows XP, DivX 6.
            I had a mix of divx and xvid video files I was converting to DVD using Nero. The dixv were fine but all the xvids had audio sync issues (about a 2 to 3 second delay). The one's I've redone since the file rename seem to be fine, at least so far.
            ===================
