A more efficient method required , Plz help

    i have a few .avi`s here , trying to make into VCD`s

Nero will encode 2 mpg 1st , but i ran out of

patience when 5 % took around 40 minutes

Then i tried TMPenc , it estimated just over 4

hours(The flick in question is not another teen movie,

    Pt 1 , only 45 minutes long)....

The i tried avi 2 VCD , which in over 2 hours ,has only

done 5000 frames of over 81,000

So i`ll ask ya , is there a quicker method ?

Not many folks have the VCDs or Mpg`s ready to go

Probably around 1 %. Does this have to be so slow &

    painstakingly teddious ???????

      Hi

      Tnx for your reply

The weak link may be my system , though nothing

      else is ever this slow

      I`m using a Celeron 300a , sometimes overclocked

      to about 500 Mhz........

i will be upgrading soon to about 1.6 , Athlon....

D`ya figure it`s the program , or the system?????

      Ciao -

more than likely its not the program

your system wouldnt set any records and would most likely be responsible for slowing things down for you

        i have a celeron 500 and a p3 600. the p3 600 encodes a lot faster.
a little bit is better than nada.
sometimes you want the whole enchilada.

You can't win the grand prix in a Lada

Wait for your 1.6 and get some nice Mb's of memory (256 or even 512) ............... you'll be amazed

(On my system 1.7 P4 256Mb it takes me one on one (1 hour avi to 1 hour mpg, with TMPGEnc)

              Pile of ass

Plus the fact that Celeron's are a pile of ass.
