Play Subtitles

Hello,

I am new to DivX and just downloaded the DivXplayer from http://www.divx.com/divx/player/index.php. I have a film (.avi) and a subtitle (.srt). Now I would like to play the subtitle along with the film. I prefer the subtitle to appear on top of the movie (as usual at the cinema) and not in a separate window. I also would like the subtitle to play at correct frame rate and not too fast or slow. Is this possible and if so, how do I proceed? Please give me step by step instructions.

.srt is a time-based subtitle (as oposed to frame-based) so it should always play at correct framerate
Try BSplayer for playback, it's one of the most versatile avi+subtitle players.
For associating .srt and other subtitle formats with most players, install vobsub2.23
For adjusting subtitles (if they're not sync'ed) try SubtitleWorkshop.
