Hi, if your just wanting to burn the movie off onto disc and providing the file is small enough for the disc capacity (ie, 650MB, 700MB, 800MB and even 900MB) you can do so with any burning program such as NERO, CDR Win, Easy CD Creator ect ect. However if your wanting to watch this movie on a stand-a-lone dvd player/vcd player/ psx with vcd adaptor, you can convert to MPEG (or MPEG2 only in some dvd players). How this can be done and the steps involved can be found at www.vcdhelp.com or the tutorials associated with this site and allot of other VCD/DVD Media related sites. As mentioned in earlier posts about creating VCD's just check that the stand-a-lone will play VCD and CDR and what brand of disc suits your particular player

      hope this helps

      Cheers

        One last newbie question

I have a pioneer A03 dvd-r burner and if I wanted to rip a dvd movie and burn it back to a blank dvd-r disc (for backup purposes in case something was to ever happen to the original of course!), are there different steps to take than taking the VCD road. If so, can someone guide me in that direction?

        Thanks

U could burn the *.Vob (Mpeg-2) DVD files to a DVD-R (For Backup purposes only though lol) instead of having converted to VCD Mpeg-4 format

I know there is alot of software burners out there that I can use but can anyone recommend a good one; maybe one that will burn the ac3 audio (rather than converting it over to .wav)?

                  To Anthony

In light of the fact that you've got your terminology all mixed up, Id suggest you go to this site:

The latest news, guides and downloads for digital video (DVD, Blu-ray, DivX, Xvid ...), HD, 3D and gaming

and read some of the excellent tutorials regarding DVD authoring and burning.
