Ripping DVD Metallica Cunning Stunts PAL

When I ripped my Cunning Stunts DVD the picture was funny in the way of the picture had small slim rectangles thru parts of the picture (Mainly in the moving parts where motion was the most eg panning across the room etc).

When I play the DVD the Stand alone DVD player its fine. So I tried it on my laptop (Compaq Armada E500 p3-700, 256mbram, 4x DVD, 14 GB HD, w2k sp2) and it was doing the same thing. Even when I pushed the signal out to the Video out port of the computer to the TV.

I didn't realsed that the lappy was doing this until I ripped the DVD, with other DVD's it plays fine in the lappy as well as the DVD player... Even dropped the res to 640x480 16bit colours still no gain in performance with this DVD.

Software I used was: Smartripper 2.41, DVD2AVI, TMPGEnc

Any ideas what might be happening?

try a different ripping method in SR or a different ripper like dvdecrypter
