    VCD player program for my laptop

    first of all profound thanks for helping me to finally get the tmpgen program to work on my computer.At risk of boring or being redundant I am running a 850athelon hp with an ati allinwonder card and using ez cd creator 5 platinum to make disks.Kept having problem with audio synch and mod told me that it should not be happening.For whatever its worth it turned out tto be previously undetected virus files which regular commercial software did not pick up but system suite by ontrack did.Unfortunately had to reformat computer but now the video card works like a charm and the video editor by tmpgen works like a charm.what I would like to do next is be able to play back the vcds on my toshiba laptop with dvd .I am playing back vcd on an APEX 500w.Cannot play vcd back on desktop computer..an oddity of ez cd creator 5 .It will play the files but not the burned vcd according to tech support and I have not seen updates for it on their site.WHat I would like to find is a vcd player program that I can load on Toshiba laptop and play vcd on when I'm on the road.Sorry for long note I'm still new at this have been more into satellite tv and music cds.this is all new stuff for mee.Once again I really appreciate the help.Thought the problems I was having and solution might help someone else out.Thanks

    It's easier than you think! Simply run Windows Media player. While the Media Player is open, from within Explorer, doubleclick on the "MPEGAV" directory of the VCD. Simply "drag and drop" the "AVSEQ01.DAT" file onto the Windows Media Player and it will begin to play.

    Please note that while this works for VCDs, it will not work with SVCDs (the format of which Windows Media player doesn't recognize).

    Let us know of your success ;>}

        You should encode with Nero or TMPGENc--pioneers in the vcd, svcd area. WinDVD and PowerDVD might work. Yeahplayer is a nifty little player, that consumes minimal resources (less than WMP 6.4) and it supposedly handles vcd's (I haven't tried playing a vcd though).
