    radium codec installation

    I'm trying to install Froenhoffers Radium Codec 1.2
    I unzip the file and run the setupl3c file, then up comes a nice graphic, ominous music on the title page, giving me options to "cancel" or "next", yet nothing I do can make either of those buttons work. How do I get past this and install???

    Never seen anything like this before

    It's always a possibility that you've acquired a fouled up file. Try downloading it from a different source. Or download and install DivX v.3.11, which includes the very same MP3 codec.

    Let us know of your success ;>}

      I had the same problem with radium in XP. It worked fine in 98SE. Sorry, I don't know how to fix it, but I asked - no reply yet.

      Also noticed AVI's created on the XP machine only playback sound on the XP machine. The same AVI's work fine on a 98 machine. Other AVI's play fine in XP (created with a different codec, I assume). Working on that problem...

        I looked at some of the problems others were having, and tried out the Tsunami-filter-pack (um... do a search on tsunami in DVF). It install a bunch of up-to-date drivers, apparently including radium.

          well, I'm still getting up to speed on almost everything, but, I got the radium installation to work by:

          Right click the exe
          open it in compatiblity mode and select 98/Me

          works fine

            Thanks for the help!

            For other reasons, I've had to re-install Win98
            I tried installing the codec again and got the same results, no response from the next, or quit buttons UNTIL I opened the .exe by right clicking and opening - then everything was fine.

            Sometimes the solution is right under the 'ol nose, but I wouldn't have stumbled on it without your suggestion. Thank you
