How can i edit captured mini dv

HI,

I was trying to transfer my mini dv movie onto dvd format. But i wanted to delete some scenes like a span of 7 minutes in the middle of the tape. Can someone please tell me how to do this.
I captured the movie, but how can i transfer it while also editing it onto a dvd. This is my first time doing this, it was my duaghters wedding video that i wanted to edit . i have a sony handycam camcorder. i can use either Nero, SOnic, Ulead programs for this. What is the proper program to use ?

I also have a sony handy cam. I use ulead videostudio 7 to import and then edit. Than save it as an .mpeg in Dvd quality. Than use TMPEGnc to make .vob file. Than Dvd deycrypter to burn to your Dvd media. Or Dvd shrink to it down in size than burn.

This is what works for me, if anyone else knows of a better way please post.....
