Making a playable dvdr out of a divX-movie? +subtitle question

I have a movie. I think its a divX movie but im not sertain. Anyway, I want to put it on a dvdr so i can play it on my pioneer dvd-player. I also have subtitles in .idx-format it says.

How do i put the subtitles in to the movie and put it on a dvdr?!?!

Obviously, Im new to all this and I hope u guys can help me out...
