Only to burn CD-Rs - NOT for ANY DVD media. That requires a DVD burner...

With Nero you can make a mini dvd on a cd, but I don't think this is what you want to do.

Hey there tncaz! If you have a CD-R or CD-RW drive, you can only burn CD's, or CD-rewriteables, not DVD's.

The GOOD NEWS is that you can make VCD's, or Video CD's with the right software (most of the software is free). It's the CD version of DVD, basically. It's lower quality than DVD, and you can only fit one hour and 19 minutes on a CD, but you can make 2 CD movies that look pretty good.

Using just a CD burner like you have,, I have been able to make VCD's and watch them on my home theatre.

Video CD's, or VCD's can be made with a CD burner and played on many home DVD players, but not all players. If you have a VCD capable home DVD player and are interested in copying DVD's to VCD, or interested in making VCD's from computer AVI's, then you can certainly do that if you're willing to invest a little time and effort into learning how!

You can send me a personal messege (click the PM button) or reply to this thread and I can tell you how!

              Peace
