    Editing mpeg2 in iMovie ( mac )

    Hi,
I'm VERY new to all this, especially terminology
My partner has an eMac running os X.
She has recently perchased a Sony dvd handycam ( dvd201e ).
It came with imagemixer 1.5 for windows.

    No worries we thought.
The only way we can view the clips is to insert finalised disk from the camera into the DVD drive.

I have a pc with xp. I have it networked with the mac and have installed the image mixer program on my pc.
I can access the clips in the PIXELA capture folder. They play in windows media player and winamp ( mpeg2 files ).
When I send them to the mac they come up with Quicktime logo but will not play ( not recognised ).
They also will not import into iMovie or iDVD. Though iMovie imports other mpegs I have.
We can make copies of the finalised disk and play them in my sony DVD player but would really love to edit them.
The image mixer on my pc seems to not want to do anything.
Buttons are greyed out ( Open new project being one of them! ).
Would ideally like to edit on the mac as my pc has no DVD drive.

    Can anyone help?

Well I think I've answered this one by myself.
Apparently need to update to latest quicktime for $19.95US.

Came across another weird problem with the mac.

Photo's sent from iPhoto to the printer come out as mirror images!
Yet the same photos sent from my pc to the mac, then the printer, come out fine

    A real puzzler?!?!?

    Any takers?
Mac help no help I'm afraid.....nothing in google brings up any answers.
